Two Way Radios / Walkie-Talkies

Portable Two-Way Radios (Walkie-Talkies) ensure reliable wireless communications in an emergency because they work independently of landline and cellular networks. Radios also instantly increase day-to-day productivity by notifying teachers, administrators, hall monitors, security, or maintenance staff of an intruder, weather alert, water leak, transportation issue, security incident, or other important alerts. Two-way radios can also be programmed as access control tools to lock/unlock doors and gates or integrate with PA or Phone Systems. 

Mobile Two-Way Radios in school buses keep drivers in touch, help manage transportation routes, and can be used as base stations for dispatch to coordinate operations and messaging. GPS is available.

Two-Way Radio Accessories

The right two-way radio accessories ensure your team gets the best communications performance with the greatest ease-of-use. Headsets and earpieces enable hands-free operation for busy teachers. Headsets also block background noise during crowded assemblies and sporting events. Belt clips and carry-cases keep radios close by, yet out-of-the way.

Spare batteries ensure that radios are ready to deliver peak signal strength when they are needed most. Multi-unit chargers are available to reduce electrical outlet demands and shelf space requirements.

For mobile radios in buses, speaker microphones make it easier and safer for drivers to communicate.

BDA-DAS Systems

A Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) is part of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS), both of which are signal boosters used to increase coverage for wireless, two-way radios and cellular devices. Since variables such as building materials, dead spots, and interference offer unique challenges within a facility, nearly every BDA-DAS solution is custom-designed.

Public Safety: In many localities, Bi-Directional Amplifiers are mandated in structures such as schools. BDAs are used to boost two-way radio signal strength on Public Safety frequencies to ensure that first responders remain in contact with each other during an emergency. Electrocomm has experience deploying BDA-DAS signal boosters to meet local codes.
